Home to the Caserta Royal Palace it's the residence, besides the one of Naples, of the Bourbon royal family. With its statues, the large sets of fountains and waterfalls, and the English lawn in the highest part, the park of the Palace is the last great example of Baroque conception of park. Built in obedience to Charles III of Bourbon' s wishes (Charles VII of Naples), the direction and the design was entrusted to the architect Luigi Vanvitelli. The new King wanted a residence that could compete with the residences of European dynasties; it had to be able to represent and transmit magnificence and grandeur.
Departure to Caserta and guided tour to the beautiful apartments and gardens, famous testimony of Vanvitelli's art.
